TAKING COURSES OUTSIDE OF HINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL
GENERAL INFO
Students may elect to take classes outside of Hingham High School for enrichment, in cases of scheduling conflicts, or to re-take a course they have failed. All courses taken outside of Hingham High School must be approved in advance by the principal. This includes, but is not limited to, summer school or online classes.
For enrichment and/or remedial courses taken at the college level, the number of credits and the level of the course will be determined by the principal. Courses that are not being taken for the purpose of making up a failing grade will not be included in a student's GPA. Under certain circumstances, and with prior approval by the principal, credits toward graduation may be earned at other approved institutions. For a student who has failed a course, no more than fifteen credits may be earned from an approved summer school program during a student's high school career.
